Back to the root : Ambrosi Napoli

Like many of tailor’s house, it is pretty much still a family business, when you walked into their workshop, you are usually greeted by Salvatore’s mother as you walk from the front door into the working area, you will find a cutting tables where Salvatore works alongside his father.

Located in the historic centre of Naples on the Via Chiaia, the workshop is situated on the second floor of the building. The size of the workshop is just over 200 square meters

Ambrosi’s family has been making trousers for 4 generations which started around the World War two period. Being a proud Neapolitan, the trousers from Ambrosi reflect their root, they are handmade in their workshop. The word “Handmade” for Ambrosi’s trouser can be broken down into three main parts which are cutting, sewing and decorating.

Starting from scratch with creating a pattern then cutting by hands which means cutting with precision one by one. Next, sewing process, 
“Sewing with hands is possible to give shape to the trousers while with machine is not possible” Salvatore Ambrosi. Finally, the decorating process which expresses the aesthetic details of the trousers.
